       Recipe Baking: Steak meat dishes  Directory 

   Recipe Baking: PEPPER STEAK

   1 lg. round steak
1 lg. onion, diced or thinly sliced
1 lg. or 2 sm. green peppers, diced
or thinly sliced
2 lg. cans whole tomatoes (with
liquid), coarsely chopped
1 lg. can tomato paste

Semi-freeze round steak and thinly slice. Saute steak in oil; season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a dash of Worcestershire sauce. Add onion and green pepper. Cook until onion is clear. Add tomatoes and tomato paste. Stir well and cover. Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes. Serve over cooked rice.

                     SALISBURY STEAK, ONION GRAVY

 1 (10 1/2 oz.) Campbell's condensed
onion soup
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash pepper
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. catsup
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. prepared mustard

In bowl, combine 1/3 cup soup with beef, crumbs, egg, salt and pepper. Shape into 6 oval patties. In skillet, brown patties; pour off fat. Gradually blend remaining ingredients; stir to loosen browned bits. Cover; cook over low heat 20 minutes or until done. Stir occasionally. Makes 6 servings.
