Baking: Steak - casseroles recipe
Recipe Baking: STEAK BAKE CASSEROLE
1 1/2 lb. sirloin or cube steak, cut
into thin strips
1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 tbsp. molasses
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 onion, sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
16 oz. can whole tomatoes, cut up
4 oz. can Green Giant brand mushrooms
pieces & stems, drained
10 oz. pkg. frozen French cut green
beans, thawed & drained
MUFFINS:
1 1/4 c. Pillsbury's Best
all-purpose, unbleached or
self-rising flour*
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. oil
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tbsp. sesame seed
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Place meat in 2 1/2 quart casserole. Sprinkle
with 1/3 cup flour, teaspoon salt and pepper. Toss to coat meat. Bake
uncovered at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Add molasses, soy sauce, onion,
green pepper, tomatoes and mushrooms; mix well. Return to oven and bake
covered for 30 minutes. Stir in beans. Lightly spoon flour into
measuring cup; level off. In small bowl, combine 1 1/4 cups flour,
baking powder, mustard and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Combine milk, oil and egg;
add to flour mixture stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Drop by tablespoonfuls onto hot meat mixture, sprinkle with sesame seed.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-18 minutes. 6-8 servings.

STEAK & WILD RICE CASSEROLE
1 1/2 lbs. family steak
1 c. chopped onion
3 c. chopped celery
1 can mushrooms
1 can mushroom soup
4 tsp. soy sauce
1 pkg. Uncle Ben's grain & wild rice
3 1/2 c. boiling water
Cut meat into small chunks. Brown. Add onions, celery soup and
mushrooms. Combine with remaining ingredients in large casserole, simmer
10 minutes first, then bake covered at 350 degrees about 45 minutes.
This works real well prepared in an electric fry pan.
