Recipe Baking: HALLOWEEN PUMPKIN BREAD

  1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 c. water
1 c. pumpkin, cooked, pureed or
canned (bake Halloween pumpkin at
350 degrees
until soft, beat or food process)
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Blend together first 9 ingredients. Add water, pumpkin and walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees in loaf pan for 55 minutes or in 4 small pans about 35 minutes until wood pick in center comes out clean.
